Wonderful Meanjin/Brisbane indie-rock ensemble The Double Happiness recently released their second album ‘Roadhouse’ (through wonderful local powerhouse 4000 Records) and to celebrate will be returning to Sonic Sherpa for a free, all ages shindig!
The follow-up to 2018’s ‘City’ EP and 2021’s acclaimed debut LP ‘Surfgazing’, the new record completes their intended thematic surf-guitar triptych: city, surf and western, and according to the band is inspired by the quartet’s love of spaghetti-westerns, Tarantino soundtracks, dogs and David Lynch’s ‘Twin Peaks’.
The Double Happiness have survived recent tragedy and continue to make beautiful art and play shows to consolidate their collective legacy, come on down and support this wonderful local outfit!
