Not many bands introduce a new genre when they hit Stones Corner for an instore, but legendary Brisbane trop-pop iconoclasts The Stress Of Leisure are doing that as they help us celebrate Sonic Sherpa’s fifth birthday with a free, all ages taste of their dance-tastic new album Faux Wave!
It’s incredibly their most fun and catchy offering to date – in a burgeoning canon renowned for its levity and love of hooks – with all of the trademarks that The Stress Of Leisure have come to be beloved for: acerbic wit, synth-laden melodies, propulsive rhythms and an overall vibe of genuine good-time bonhomie that makes them one of the funnest propositions on our wonderful Brisbane doorstep.
