Local rock five-piece Sean Power & The Main Street Band recently released their epic debut Black Letter Day, the perfect encapsulation of the band’s potent blend of roots rock, blues, alternative-country and Americana, and to celebrate will be dropping into Stones Corner for a free, all ages instore!
Recorded and mixed by Sean Power, the minimalist approach of Black Letter Day is rooted in the classic recordings of the late-’60s and early-’70s, using a blend of old school valve preamps, spring reverbs and tape effects with the occasional modern twist. The album was about capturing a mood and in some cases the guide tracks and demos made the final cut.
They’re a great live proposition and even more excitingly Sean is a long-term and valued member of the Sonic Sherpa community making it a local event in every sense of the term, so come on down and get behind one of our own launching awesome music into the stratosphere!
