Excellent local indie rock trio People Mover recently released their brilliant debut album ‘Cane Trash’ – a sun-dappled reminiscence inspired by memories of a childhood in rural Queensland – and to celebrate will be hitting Sonic Sherpa for a free, all ages instore!
It’s a wonderful listen which reminds of bands like The Beths, Dick Diver and Courtney Barnett and it’s been scoring some great reviews – Susie Scribbles called it, “A collection of songs shaped by the Queensland heat and distinct visions of childhood homes, ‘Cane Trash’ captures the messiness of being in your twenties through glistening guitars and melodies that stick like a seatbelt in summer” – so come on down and get behind the jangly end of our amazing local scene!
PS the album launch proper takes place on Friday 31 October at The Junk Bar (with able assistance from The Blankettes and Keeley Young, tickets through Oztix
