Ten years after the making of his critically acclaimed EP Future Self, Brisbane singer-songwriter Ben Forbes (aka BANFF) is the first to say his debut album Bleed Out has been a long time coming.
“I can’t quite believe ten years have passed since Future Self came out. Bleed Out delves into a lot that has happened since then. The songs were born from experiences where I was facing big fears head on and trying to overcome ingrained self-doubt. I grappled with running out of time, wanting to give up on myself.
At the same time, people close to me were falling apart. I couldn’t seem to help myself or anyone else, and in all of that, the album felt like it was slowly dying. That’s where the name Bleed Out came from. But in amongst the mess, I also dove head first into a kind of rebirth.”
